Solid timber planks are available in a number of species, widths and lengths. It is not recommended that any plank over 5” width is stuck directly to subfloors, but rather nailed/screwed onto joists.
An expansion gap will need to be left to the perimeters, and matching solid timber mouldings and thresholds will be used throughout.
If you prefer a wider plank, then it might be advisable to use an engineered board, so as to reduce the possibility of cupping and tenting of the boards.
Solid planks are available in either a variety of finishes, or in ‘the raw’ for finishing by our experts to your exact specification.
