Wood Block Flooring

This really is the ‘Rolls Royce’ of wood flooring. Wood blocks are available in several sizes and either 15 or 20mm thickness, and many species. Laid correctly a wood block floor should last a lifetime.  Each block is individually stuck to the subfloor to make the desired pattern, such as herringbone, basket weave, brick bond etc. Borders can be added, together with stripping of a different species to highlight the floor.

Once the blocks are laid, our craftsmen sand the whole floor for an even and tight grained finish, and then the finishing products are applied. Sealants are the hardest wearing of the finishes, but wax oils and oils can be used as well.
